The professional rodeo community is deeply mourning the loss of three-year-old Oaklynn Rae Domer, the daughter of 10-time Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) World Champion breakaway roper Kelsie Chace Domer and her husband, Ryan.

The Incident: Oaklynn tragically passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, following a sudden, freak accident at her family’s property in Texas.

The Cause: According to reports, Kelsie Domer was leading two horses while holding Oaklynn when one of the horses suffered an unexpected, catastrophic medical emergency, collapsing onto them. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Oaklynn did not survive. Kelsie survived the incident.

The Victim: Oaklynn Rae Domer (born August 11, 2022) was known as “Baby Oakie” on the professional rodeo circuit, traveling coast-to-coast with her parents and becoming a beloved fixture in the practice pens and arenas.

“Be The Light” Memorial: The family and close friends launched a grassroots memorial campaign featuring pink “Be The Light” caps through Cowgirl Armor, selling thousands of hats to carry on her legacy.

The Oaklynn Rae Domer Fund: Established via the Rope Like a Girl 501(c)(3) foundation, the fund has accumulated significant support from across the Western sports industry. It is being used to provide family assistance and long-term collegiate rodeo scholarships in Oaklynn’s memory at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
