The community of Minooka, Illinois, and the Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) baseball team are mourning the tragic passing of student-athlete Michael Roberson, who was found dead on Friday, May 1, 2026.
The Incident
The Discovery: Early Friday morning, authorities were alerted to a vehicle submerged in the Mazon River in Grundy County. Emergency crews responding to the scene discovered Michael’s body inside the vehicle.
Location: The crash occurred near the area of Grinter Road, south of Minooka.
Circumstances: Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle left the roadway and entered the river. The Grundy County Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department are currently investigating the exact timing and cause of the accident.
