The Jackson Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting outside The Hideaway nightclub on the 5100 block of I-55 North in Jackson, Mississippi, that claimed the life of 19-year-old Alana Duck early Sunday morning, May 17, 2026.
The victim, a resident of Brandon, Mississippi, was officially identified by Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard.

According to investigators, the violent incident unfolded rapidly after midnight in the commercial corridor of the city:
1:00 AM | Emergency Call: Jackson Police officers were dispatched to the nightclub’s parking lot following reports of multiple gunshots being fired.
The Dispute: Upon arrival, officers determined that a physical fight had broken out between several males outside the venue. The altercation quickly turned volatile, escalating into an active exchange of gunfire among the participants.
The Discovery: During their sweep of the scene, officers located a black Honda Accord. Inside the vehicle, they discovered Alana Duck suffering from a severe gunshot wound to her upper body.
