According to investigators, the shooting took place in Buffalo’s University District. Police dispatch received an emergency call reporting gunfire just after 10:00 PM on Sunday.
Responding officers converged on Shirley Avenue, locating the active scene on the block stretched between Comstock Avenue and Bailey Avenue. Upon their arrival, police found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
Medical Response and Victim Status
Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene before transport. He was taken via ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC).
