He died at his home in Utah, surrounded by his wife and eight sons. His death follows a decades-long battle with primary-progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). In the final days leading up to his passing, Alan spent a week in intensive care before returning home for hospice care. Songwriting & Production: Alan co-wrote and produced many of the group’s biggest hits, including “One Bad Apple,” “Down by the Lazy River,” and “Crazy Horses.” Resilience: Diagnosed with MS in his 30s, Alan became a symbol of positivity. His famous mantra was: “I may have MS, but MS does not have me.” Faith: A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in numerous leadership roles and credited his faith for his optimism throughout his illness. Surviving FamilyAlan is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Suzanne Pinegar Osmond, their eight sons (Michael, Nathan, Doug, David, Scott, Jon, Alex, and Tyler), 30 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Virl, Tom, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy. He was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Osmond, who passed away in early 2025.
