The Virginia State Police are investigating a tragic, single-vehicle ATV crash that claimed the life of 41-year-old Melvin Jerome-Sterling Lawson on Saturday night, May 16, 2026.
Details of the Crash
According to state troopers, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 8:12 PM along Rose Tucker Road, roughly half a mile west of Tucker Hill Road.
Investigating troopers determined that Lawson was operating a 2022 Can-Am Renegade 1000R X MR four-wheeler, traveling eastbound. For reasons still under official review, the ATV veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.
