    The Rochester and Greece communities are mourning the sudden loss of Scott Michael Kruppenbacher, a 31-year-old native of Greece, New York, who passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026.

    Scott was widely known for his infectious smile, his talent as a mechanic, and his deep roots in the local community.

    Life and Legacy
    A Talented Tradesman: Scott was a skilled mechanic by trade, but those close to him knew him as a “jack-of-all-trades” who excelled in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. He spent much of his time in his garage, often helping friends and family rebuild motors and solve complex mechanical problems.

    Passion for Music: A graduate of Hilton Central Schools, Scott was an accomplished trumpet player. He was a dedicated member of the school’s band and jazz ensemble, frequently performing in the “Evening of Jazz” concerts.

    Community Roots: He attended St. Lawrence Elementary School and was a Boy Scout in his youth, developing a reputation for kindness and patience that followed him into adulthood.

    Service Information
    The family has invited the community to share in his life story during the following services:

    Visitation: Friday, April 17, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home (1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY).

    Funeral Mass: Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Greece.

    Interment: He will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

    Memorial Contributions
    In honor of Scott’s passion for the trades and his hardworking nature, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Mike Rowe Works Foundation, which supports people pursuing careers in the skilled trades.

    Scott is survived by his parents, Scott and Joette, his sister, Katherine, and a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who remember him as a man who lived for his family.
